Karabuk University, Department of Social Work has been founded on 2 February 2011and aim to start student admission and provide social work education by the academic year 2013-2014. Social work is a profession of social support and solidarity.

Social work strives to procure professional help to fulfill the disadvantaged individuals’, groups’ or societies’ needs, develop the social functionality and reveal the existing human potential on the basis of values such as social justice and equality, human rights and democracy.

The goal of the social work education is to train sufficiently qualified and proficient individuals to carry out social work applications. In this regard, our department gains proficiency in aspects such as psychodynamic approaches, human behavior and development, social work theory, social and economic environment, social problems, social security system, factors contributing to normal development in individual’s life, social and individual anomalies and their symptoms to our students.
