Department of Biostatistics; It was first opened to education in the Department of Public Health and then Medical Biology in 1969 with the transfer to other Diyarbakır from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.

The Department of Biostatistics within the Faculty of Medicine in our country, the Faculty of Medicine of our University was established for the first time.
Our Department; Activities are planned to fulfill Education, Research and Development, Application and social services.
As the Department of Biostatistics, we conduct experiments and develop advanced postgraduate education programs. In addition, we are developing new methodology projects to increase our international competitiveness.
In the Computer Laboratory of our Faculty of Medicine with a capacity of 30 computers; Biostatistics undergraduate courses are taught on a practical basis, with his student at least 4 hours on the computer one-to-one. In addition, Biostatistics consultancy services are provided for scientific researches in the field of Health Sciences. Approximately 250 researches are given consultancy per year. As we have done with joint researches with clinical sciences until today, thanks to the studies we have done with other disciplines, we have the importance of Biostatistics and the acceptance of the studies in international journals
