Animal Science; Providing the necessary information and equipment for the development of modern animal husbandry, thus taking into account animal welfare and behavior in order to obtain more yield from livestock and to make a more profitable animal husbandry, providing necessary information about animal breeding, care, breeding and health protection rules It is a field of science that tries to develop new knowledge and techniques in this field. The Department of Animal Science includes livestock animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, pet animals such as poultry (such as broilers and laying hens, quail, partridges and ostriches), cats, dogs and caged birds, including maintenance and management, production, increasing productivity with alternative production systems; It conducts training and researches on the development of resistant, highly adaptable genotypes using traditional and / or modern biotechnological breeding methods.
As of 2020, 1 faculty member is working within the Department of Animal Science. Department of Science; The seminar room consists of a Research and Application Laboratory, Quail Unit and academic and administrative staff rooms. In the Department of Animal Science, Animal Shelters, Laboratory Animal Breeding and Buffalo Breeding elective courses are given as compulsory courses in addition to Animal Science I, Animal Science II, Animal Welfare and Animal Breeding. Practices related to theoretical courses are made in units belonging to species in the Research and Application Center of our faculty, in public livestock enterprises, private farms and hippodromes, and students are provided with skills.
