Blasting works are inevitable in all kinds of mining and construction works, especially in quarrying, highway construction, excavation activities in tunnel, dam, other construction and underground manufacturing technologies. The increase in size and capacity in these activities naturally increases the amount of explosives used. The fact that such activities are close to settlements (even within most of the time) causes increasingly environmental problems due to inevitable ground shaking and air shock. This situation, besides the economic and technological results expected from the blast excavation, could not be obtained, it may directly affect the life and property safety of the inhabitants of the environment, and also paves the way for some psychological problems.
In this context, our Explosive Engineering Master Program has been opened to find solutions to the above-mentioned issues with a systematic approach, to train expert technical staff and to contribute to the solution of the problems of the sector with experts of this nature.
