Çankırı Karatekin University Department of Sociology was established in 2008 and accepted its first undergraduate students in the 2009-2010 academic year and is still continuing its education at the undergraduate level. In our department, which continues its education with the departments of General Sociology and Methodology, Sociology of Institutions, Applied Sociology and Social Structure and Change, 10 academic staff including 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 2 Doctor Instructors, 1 Lecturer and 4 Research Assistants work. As a department, our main goal is to enable our students to have sufficient knowledge of sociology and to develop themselves, and to see the changing sociology trends in line with the ever-changing world conditions. To raise expert sociologists who can analyze today’s societies in a healthy way and produce the best solution for the society. The future sociologists who will graduate from our department can be teachers of philosophy groups as well as being a faculty member at universities. Graduates of the sociology department are also employed in positions such as development agencies, ministries, SHÇEK, DPT, TRT, TURKSTAT, TÜBİTAK, General Directorate of Security, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, public research companies, media organizations, public relations in private companies.
