The Department of Landscape Architecture was established in 1990 within the Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Dr. Kamuran Güçlü, followed by Prof. Dr. M. Ilgar Kırzıoğlu, Prof. Dr. Hasan Yılmaz and Prof. Dr. Sevgi Yılmaz was the head of the department. Prof. Dr. Serkan Özer is still the head of the department. The department, which started its education life with 20 students, received its first students in 1991 and gave its first graduates in 1995. The student quota was increased to 30 in 1998, and 40 in 2006. Our department, which has graduated 20 terms until 2015, has brought more than 500 landscape architects to the profession during this period. After the Faculty of Architecture and Design was established in 2010, the Department of Landscape Architecture within the Faculty of Agriculture was transferred to the Faculty of Architecture and Design in 2011. The department, where 5 Professors, 5 Associate Professors, 1 Doctor Lecturer and 3 Research Assistants work, also provides education at Master and Doctorate level.
