Aim of the Department
The aim of the Turkish Language and Literature Program, in which innovative and professional education is provided in accordance with internationalization standards is to ensure that students are able to be competent in the fields such as History of Turkish Language, Turkish and World Literature, Historical and Contemporary Turkish languages on a national and international level.

Target of the Department
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature aims to train students with internationally acclaimed literary, literary, creative, knowledgeable and well-educated team that is familiar with the national culture of our country and who can understand the language of the Turkish culture and literature products, grasp the depth of this issue, who have knowledge of the depth of research and development, giving importance to the lifelong learning aims to adopt. At the same time, department aims to ensure that each student has a high level of verbal thinking skill, is sensitive to society and the environment, can think rationally, is qualified with respect to social and scientific ethical values, and also become scientists who are respected in accordance with internationalization standards.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of Turkish Language and Literature Department have the opportunity to be employed under many different titles in public and private institutions. Employment as a teacher in private and public (public high schools), teaching in private institutions like TÖMER, teaching Turkish to foreigners; they can also work as an academician, as a journalist and editor in the media, in the field of human resources, in the field of correspondence in large companies.

Departments Allowing Horizontal Transfer
Our department accepts students with lateral transfer within quotas in accordance with “Regulations Regarding the Transition between Programs at the Higher Education Institutions and Programs under the Bachelor’s Degree Program, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Transfer among the Associate / Undergraduate Programs”.

Departments Allowing Vertical Transfer
All students who want to be enrolled in the Department by Vertical Transfer are placed by OSYM in case they get adequate score from the Vertical Transfer Examination. Students who fulfill all the requirements are entitled four years of undergraduate education at our university.
